deugro’s self-developed, two-year DMP (deugro’s most promising) trainee program for young talents welcomes its 100th participant—just in time for deugro’s 100th anniversary.
In June 2024, Michael Sharrer joined deugro’s international DMP program, making him the 100th participant. Starting at deugro Erie, in Pennsylvania, USA, the first international stop of his two-year educational journey as a DMP participant is Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
“I chose the DMP program because it is an incredible opportunity to experience new cultures and meet new people, all while developing professionally and gaining invaluable experience in logistics,” said Michael Sharrer, DMP program participant at deugro.
deugro’s DMP program was developed and implemented nearly 25 years ago. It continues to recruit, train and educate a diverse pool of young talent from around the world, to pass on theoretical knowledge and practical experience, and to provide accelerated technical career development within the organization.
To achieve this, the participants are sent to a different deugro location every three months—allowing them to gain and deepen their theoretical knowledge and practical experience, to build up a valuable network of colleagues and business contacts and to acquire a good idea and understanding of the international deugro world, all while working on a variety of different projects around the globe.
“By internally passing on the many years of company-specific professional expertise and practical experience from senior experts to the younger generation, deugro’s DMP program is an essential pillar to retain critical in-house knowledge and experience as well as to groom our new generation. The program’s lasting success is reflected by the large share of graduates who are still with deugro today and can be found in several positions from project manager to C-Level” said Diana Kaufmann, President Central Europe, Global Risk Management and HR Development at deugro.
