US East Coast & Gulf Coast Port Strike Ceased

Dear Valued Clients,

We are happy to announce that the strike located along the East and Gulf Coast Ports has temporarily ceased. As of October 3, 2024, the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and the United States Maritime Alliance, Ltd. (USMX) reached a tentative agreement to extend their Master Contract until January 15, 2025.

It is expected that all ports covered by the Master Contract will resume operations starting October 4, 2024. Please be aware that cargo may still face delays while the ports/terminals are restarting their operations.

Additionally, it is important to note that the strike may very well occur again in January should the parties fail to reach a final agreement. The wording of the official announcement which has been is as follows: “ The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and the United States Maritime Alliance, Ltd. (USMX) have reached a tentative agreement on wages and have agreed to extend the Master Contract until January 15, 2025, to return to the bargaining table to negotiate all other outstanding issues. Effective immediately, all current job actions will cease, and all work covered by the Master Contract will resume.”

In case of any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time.

Respectfully,
deugro
