Corporate Social Responsibility

At deugro, we define corporate social responsibility (CSR) as our contribution to the sustainable development of economic, ecological and social aspects, as well as to good corporate governance. Our commitment to CSR is built on the values of personal accountability, leadership, trust and integrity. It is lived top-down by our C-suite, Presidents and senior management, and by each employee worldwide.

deugro group’s CSR strategy is in line with the ISO 26000 standard and is reinforced by its support of The Ten Principles of the United National Global Compact (UNGC). Within our strategy, we have structured our commitment across four pillars—People, Planet, Ethics and Philanthropy—which are also reflected in our business strategy, corporate culture and daily operations.

People

Our employees are not only the key to our success—they are the heart of deugro. Because we are a family business, their well-being, health and safety are our top priority. We are committed to treating all employees with dignity and equality while maintaining company compliance with local employment laws, corporate directives and the UNGC’s principles. At the same time, we are continuously developing the deugro group Academy to provide the best-possible opportunities for everyone, including different training formats, mentoring programs and many more.

Philantropy

We are aware that we do have an impact on our environment and the societies we are active in. Through our strategic approach, we seek to give something back and have a positive impact on our communities and planet. This means that we promote global and local engagement programs targeting organizations that work on projects which reflect the values of deugro group.

One example is our partnership with CARE. deugro group is an emergency-aid partner of CARE, a humanitarian organization founded in 1945 that responds to humanitarian crises and fights global poverty. The partnership has a long history: At the end of the Berlin Blockade in 1949, deugro’s trucks were among the first to deliver CARE’s aid packages to the people of Berlin. In our partnership, we support CARE’s emergency aid work with donations and by sponsoring campaigns as well as employee participation initiatives.
