Strengthening the Well-being of Our Employees
Empowering Minds, Cultivating Resilience
At deugro, we recognize the profound impact that mental health has on both personal well-being and professional performance. We strive to create an environment in which any issues related to mental health can be addressed, such as stress, burnout, anxiety, perfectionism, lack of motivation, or even procrastination.
These topics became more pronounced during the COVID-19 pandemic. We successfully navigated these challenging times together by collecting feedback, learning, implementing mindfulness initiatives and overall improving our measures to support well-being.
We are committed to addressing these issues further and are ready to support our employees worldwide with our comprehensive initiatives. At deugro, our employees’ wellbeing is our priority, and we are proud to bring our initiatives to the next level by providing the necessary support and resources for everyone to thrive, both personally and professionally.
Mental health platform with 24/7 support
deugro has partnered with OpenUp, an organization dedicated to mental well-being. This digital platform offers tools and support for maintaining mental wellness, addressing stress and promoting overall well-being.
The platform provides access to online one-on-one individual sessions with certified psychologists and lifestyle-experts. Apart from that participants have access to online masterclasses, mindfulness and group sessions, online programs, articles and various courses.
Every deugro employee and up to three direct family members can use these resources for free, showing our commitment to creating a supportive and healthy work environment for all.
We want to ensure that all our employees have access to the tools they need to support their wellbeing, both at work and at home. Our partnership with OpenUp is a big step in that direction, aiming to create a safe space to communicate openly about any concerns each individual might have.
Mental health awareness month
October has been designated as Mental Health Awareness Month at deugro. During this time, we focus on raising awareness about mental well-being and encouraging open conversations about mental health. Each week, we explore different aspects of mental health, starting with the fundamentals of mental well-being and its importance.
Topics include emotional resilience, positive relationships, self-esteem, work–life balance and self-care. By discussing these topics, we aim to destigmatize mental health issues and promote a culture of support and empathy.
Addressing discrimination
We are proactive in combating all forms of discrimination within the workplace, whether based on sexual orientation, age, gender, gender identity, disability, social status, ethnicity, race, religion, national origin, skills or interests. By raising awareness about unconscious bias, we strive to shift our collective mindset to focus on the unique qualities each individual brings to the table.
Inclusive working environment
Discrimination can occur at any stage of the employment process, from hiring to promotion and beyond. At deugro, we are committed to fighting discrimination and unconscious bias from the outset. Our inclusive hiring practices are designed to attract a diverse pool of candidates, ensuring that we bring a wide range of perspectives and experiences into our team. We continuously review and update our practices to ensure they remain effective and equitable, fostering a workplace culture where every individual feels valued and empowered to contribute to their fullest potential.
In addition to our long-standing ethics and compliance structure, one of our key initiatives in this effort is the deugro group Women’s Network. This network organizes panel discussions and networking events, and provides development opportunities aimed at raising awareness and supporting the empowerment of women in the workplace.
“Our partnership with OpenUp reinforces deugro’s commitment to providing accessible and proactive mental health support for its employees. Our mental wellbeing is fundamental for each of us, and I’m proud to be part of a company that truly cares about its people”
Ann-Cathrin van Looy, Head of Global Sustainability, deugro
