deugro received the BIFA Project Forwarding Award for the successful delivery of 155 breakbulk shipments of critical oversized and heavy lift (OSHL) components, with a volume of 178,287 freight tons, on 55 chartered heavy lift vessels in times of widespread, ever-changing COVID-19 restrictions, coupled with skyrocketing freight rates and severely limited vessel capacities.
“We are proud and honored to receive the BIFA Project Forwarding Award and to be recognized as the leading project forwarder,” said Mark Riley, Branch Manager, deugro UK. “The outstanding project reflects the teamwork and excellence in project freight forwarding, which deugro has nearly 100 years of history in.”
Benjamin Mutti, Regional Director, deugro Singapore, Vietnam & Malaysia, who coordinated the project, adds: “This award is a great recognition of the excellent collaboration between deugro, dteq, Roll Group, the client, partners and the suppliers that allowed even the most difficult OSHL components to be delivered safely and successfully without injury or damage against a backdrop of many simultaneous challenges.”
Newly appointed BIFA Director General, Steve Parker, commented: “Now in their 34th year, the Freight Service Awards provide the perfect opportunity to come together and celebrate excellence within the sector, and it was a pleasure to participate in something that is so highly regarded throughout the industry.” The Project Forwarding Award was sponsored by Macbeth Insurance Brokers. The award ceremony took place on January 19, 2022, in London, United Kingdom.
