deugro Wins at the EIC Awards 2021
deugro received the EIC Awards 2021 in the category “Collaboration” for outstanding cooperation and innovative transport solutions. For transporting wind energy components in a newly designed manner, deugro, working with its client to bring its strategy to life, was honored by the jury.
The award recognizes deugro’s approach to developing tailor-made logistics concepts through close client relationships and cooperation, which offer significant added value for the clients.
The basis for the evaluation was an innovative logistics concept for offshore wind projects that deugro developed and implemented for Siemens Gamesa. This concept was based on the more than 15 years of close collaboration between deugro and Siemens Gamesa, and not only reduced the process costs in the supply chain for offshore wind turbines by approximately 20 percent, but at the same time enabled a safe, reliable and efficient handling of the cargo units.
The long-standing relationship resulted in deugro not only having a thorough understanding of the requirements of Siemens Gamesa’s site in Hull, Germany, but also a productive working relationship with the company’s supply chain team in Esbjerg, Denmark. The approach to handling the wind turbine components has been steadily and strongly developed and optimized through this long-standing collaboration.
“Collaboration and innovation have been in deugro’s DNA for nearly 100 years. We are at the forefront of project cargo freight forwarding. Close relationships with our clients ensure we deliver value-added logistics solutions, especially for low-carbon projects,” said Tim Killen, Executive Vice President, deugro group. “We are proud to receive the EIC Awards 2021 in the category ‘Collaboration’ for working with Siemens Gamesa to bring our strategy to support an immediate and profound transition to sustainable energy sources to life.”
